Get Ready…*
Starting Point: Find Your Place in the Story

Scott Kearney

Starting Point, developed by Andy Stanley, is for those who are exploring the faith, new to the faith, or returning to their faith roots.

A ten-week conversational environment where people can explore truth and experience community, while discovering God’s overarching story found in Scripture. Each week explorers will work through a conversational guide book, where they can reflect on Bible passages and thoughtful questions, as well as listen to inspiring, deeply informative messages by Andy Stanley.

Old Testament Survey (2)
Job - Malachi
Bruce Boria

Old Testament Survey (Part 2)
Have you ever heard that “the book is better than the movie”? Come find out why this is true.

Thousands of years before Jesus appeared in Bethlehem, God was preparing His people for His blessed coming.  We cannot therefore fully appreciate the purpose of Jesus’s mission until we immerse ourselves in this ancient story. Come join us as we take a look at this exciting revelation of God’s eternal story.

Finding & Fulfilling Your Unique Purpose for Life
Dirk Rodgers

S.H.A.P.E.: Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, Experience.

God uniquely prepares each of us to engage in His work, but often we get a little lost trying to discern this calling.  In this very practical study by Erik Rees, we will work through a series of small group discussions and reflections that will help us to discover our spiritual SHAPE.

This resource was originally written as a supplement to Rick Warren’s Purpose Drive Life.  We will take an online survey to help us get started, and then we will reflect together on God’s unique call upon each our lives.

2. Electives

Leaders: Rita Banakos

Having a hard time knowing what God is saying versus what others are saying?  This Bible Study is designed to help participants know the voice of God—His language, character, and tone of voice.  By growing closer to God through His Word, participants will be able to discern God’s voice from the voice of strangers. Please order your own book online @ ($10; please contact the office if you need assistance with this purchase.

DIVORCECARE - Next session April 16-June 25
Leader: Scott McKinney

DivorceCare support groups are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. You’ll gain access to valuable DivorceCare resources to help you deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life.  This semester, we are also pleased to reintroduce DivorceCare4Kids; see Children’s section, below.

Leaders: Martha & Ken Kiper
This course, developed by Phillip Yancey, is for those who want to grow deeper in their faith, by addressing some tough questions about the effectiveness of prayer. Is God listening? Why should God care about me? If God knows everything, what’s the point of prayer? How can I make prayer more satisfying? Why do so many prayers go unanswered? Do prayers for healing really matter? Does prayer change God? Join us on Wednesday evenings to explore this essential Spiritual Discipline of prayer.

Leaders: Jean & Carl Kindstedt
