Communications Coordinator

General Description

Full-Time (40 Hours)

Role and Responsibilities

  • Handling a high-volume calendar; coordinating arrangements and assets; processing and tracking invoices; printing event materials and weekly assets; providing general assistance for events
  • Facilitating the communication of timely information throughout the ministry departments and organization
  • Emailing the bi-weekly newsletter; developing editorial content (stories, resources, sermons, pictures); creating a new layout, header and color changes to coincide with the sermon series; acquiring new subscribers from the CHMS and adding them to the mailing list
  • Writing weekly announcement script outlines for both in-person and online services; ensuring that all written communication is concise, to-the-point, and avoiding of ambiguity; proofreading graphical elements and sermon slides as a second pair of eyes to avoid grammatical errors and ensure information and dates are correct
  • Weekly retrieval and review of media outlet analytics and data

Social Media

  • Weekly updating of media channel outlets; scheduling daily Facebook posts and engaging with comments/message inbox; posting Instagram videos/reels twice a week
  • Analyzing social media trends and practices of thriving contemporary church organizations

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong Understanding of metrics and analytics, with the ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights
  • Detail oriented and organized

Nice to Have Skills

  • Previous experience in graphic design
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and In-Design
  • Professional experience with marketing
  • Previous experience in content creation or social media
  • Strong familiarity with the model and values of Bethany Church or similar multisite churches
  • Experience leading and building teams
